Water park and lakeside villas: what Borovoye can become in 5 years

Kazakhstan has developed a plan for the development of tourism in the resort area of Borovoye (Burabai). The corresponding draft resolution appeared on the portal "Open NPAs", reports Tengri Travel.

According to the comprehensive tourism development plan of the Burabai resort area for 2024-2029, the developers expect an increase in the number of incoming tourists from 20 thousand to 100 thousand people.
It is also planned to increase the number of people employed in the tourism sector from 1.9 thousand to 2.5 thousand people. According to the plan, the amount of private investments will grow from 12.2 to 22.6 billion tenge.
Over the next five years, it is planned to build in Borovoye:
a modern visitor center on the territory of the Burabai resort (this will require 250 million tenge of private investment);
congress center with 1000 seats in the village of Burabai (674 million tenge from the republican and local budgets);
parking spaces for the arboretum park in the city of Shchuchinsk (35 million tenge from the local budget);
year-round water park in the village of Katarkol (10 billion tenge of private investment);
park "Promenade" in the village of Burabai (453.5 million tenge from the local budget);
summer sports and entertainment stadium in Burabai village (500 million tenge of private investment);
children's entertainment complex in Burabai village (1.5 billion tenge of private investment);
a hotel complex with an aquapark and villas, glamping on the shore of Lake Shchuchye (10.8 billion tenge of private investment);
Qymyzynai tourist recreation area in the village of Kymyznai (960 million tenge of private investment);
Shchuchinsk – Borovoe settlement interchange towards the Rixos Borovoe Hotel (630 million tenge from the republican budget);
the highway around Lake Tekekol to the highway "Northern bypass of Lake Chebachye" of Burabai district (over 1 billion tenge from the local budget);
gravel and crushed stone access road to the Karaungir lake in Burabai district (561 million tenge from the republican budget, 62.6 million tenge from the local budget).
In addition, the resort area plans to repair and reconstruct existing roads, the railway station in Shchuchinsk, improve infrastructure and much more.
The developer of the project is the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
As stated in the explanatory note to the draft resolution, its adoption will contribute to the development of the tourism industry in the Akmola region and the country as a whole, as well as increase the tourist flow. This will have a positive impact on Kazakhstan's positioning and create a favorable investment climate.
